NCA&T is a public, land grant university and constituent member of the University of North Carolina system (UNC). Established in 1891, it is a historically black college/university (HBCU) that leads the nation in the number of African American students who receive bachelor’s degrees in engineering and technology. The university campus is located on 188 acres in Greensboro, North Carolina, and includes a 600-acre university farm. Greensboro is 300 miles south of Washington, D.C., and 350 miles north of Atlanta.
