Description
In 2016 only 15% of all doctorates awarded by U.S. universities went to African-Americans, Hispanics, and Native Americas, although those three groups together represent more than 30% of the U.S. population.
Studies show that in order to be successful an Underrepresented Minority student must create a sense of community (critical relationships) while in graduate school, find a strong mentor(s), take advantage of the resources offered on campus (you already pay for those, now use them), and in most cases secure financial aid/grants to cover for their education.
We want to share with you stories from graduate students and alumni who successfully found tools to help them during their gradschool years and to recognize their experiences.
