Description

Take a deep dive into intersectional feminist topics with the Women’s Center's Brave Space Forums!

This year, our Brave Space Forums are an examination of the ways in which COVID has impacted our social spheres. For our spring semester we will focus in on the concept of "community care" and how it has helped many of us survive this pandemic.

February Topic: Emotional Labor, Burnout & COVID Survival
Taking care of our community right now requires us to stretch in many ways. We must learn patience, compassion, and conscientiousness; however, this doesn't mean that we will have to maintain constant availability for people, nor does it mean that emotional labor is equitable across social identities. For the first Brave Space Forum in our Community Care & COVID Survival Series, we will be discussing burnout and emotional labor, especially how to manage these two things with mindfulness and an anti-oppressive perspective.

We will be meeting via Blackboard. The link to this event can be accessed in the event information above.
