Conversation about Michelle Obama and the FLOTUS Effect

Book Release Party and Panel Discussion on February 27th

Join Drs. Kimberly Moffitt (LLC) and Heather Harris (Stevenson University) to celebrate the release of their co-edited volume, Michelle Obama and the FLOTUS Effect, along with contributors Sherella Cupid (LLC cohort 18), Shawntay Stocks (LLC PhD ‘19), Tahira Mahdi (PSY PhD ‘18), and Leticia D. Williams (Howard University PhD). This event will be moderated by Sonya Crosby (LLC cohort 20). 

Their book emphasizes the significance of Michelle Obamain relation to her politics and positionality as the first African American woman to serve as First Lady of the United States of America


Panelists will: 

  • Reflect on their chapters

  • Offer insights about her evolving legacy

  • Provide motivations for their involvement

  • Describe the publishing process

  • Discuss collaborative research projects
