The University of Maryland - College Park's Graduate Student History Conference will be held on February 21, 2020 in College Park, MD. This year's conference will be tackling issues surrounding borders, broadly construed. What are they? How are they created? How are they maintained? What influences do borders exert on the people or environment they occupy?
Keynote speaker is Sandra Enriquez of the University of Missouri-Kansas City who specializes in Chicanx and Latinx history, particularly urban history, borderland, and social movements. She is the Director of the Public History Emphasis.
Submissions are welcome from various fields, geographies, and time periods, which address any and all aspects surrounding borders.
Proposals of 300 words or less, along with a CV, should be send to umdgradhisconference@gmail.com by December 31, 2019.
