Summer Job Opportunity for Graduate Students

Office for Academic & Pre-Professional Advising

The Office for Academic & Pre-Professional Advising (OAPA) is currently recruiting new Orientation Advisors for Summer 2018 and we are interested in inviting graduate students to apply.

Orientation Advisors are responsible for educating new incoming students on degree requirements for their intended majors, informing them of university policies, and connecting them with appropriate department representatives which can result in the creation of strategic schedules for their first semester at UMBC.

We are currently accepting applications through May 4, 2018 for new advisors. Applications can be completed electronically and uploaded online at: http://advising.umbc.edu/facultystaff/orientation/orientation_upload/. I also attached an application and a flyer for this job announcement to this email. This will be a great opportunity for all graduate students but especially those who are interested in pursuing careers in academia.

All new advisors will be expected to attend a comprehensive training session on June 5th or 6th from 8:00am – 5:00pm
