The Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a tenure-track, open-rank position in Black, African American, and/or African Diaspora urban studies to begin August 15, 2017.  This position is part of UC’s Urban Futures Cluster Hire Initiative, and the successful candidate will focus on urban studies, broadly defined. Additional scholarly interests may include but are not limited to the following areas: Intersectionality, Black Feminist Theory, Social Movements, Popular Culture, Black Queer/Sexuality Studies, Black Masculinity Studies, and Health and Well-being. The successful candidates will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, teach two courses per semester, and contribute to service commensurate with their rank. A Ph.D. by July 31, 2017, is required. This position includes a three year Graduate Assistantship and undergraduate Research Assistant.
