Two State/System-wide Student Leadership Opportunities

Maryland Youth Advisory Council: Provides Maryland residents aged 14 - 22 (as of September 1, 2015) "the opportunity to provide feedback and recommendations regarding public policies and programs that affect their future and to take a leadership role in creating meaningful change." Members serve a one-year term (September 1st - August 31st) during which they recommend at least one piece of proposed legislation, provide legislative testimony on issues affecting young people, and hold at least one public forum. University System of Maryland Student Council: Advises the University System of Maryland Chancellor and Board of Regents on issues affecting undergraduate and graduate students. Most USMSC members are appointed by campus student governments, but the following positions will be appointed by the USMSC: 
  • Director of Communications & Marketing
  • Director of Diversity & Inclusion
  • Director of Finance & Management
  • Director of Governmental Affairs
  • Director of Student Affairs
