Real People Profiles: Jasmine Malhotra

Q: How long have you been at UMBC?

A: Since fall 2010.

Q: What is your current title (job or student organization position)?

A: Graduate Coordinator for Cultural Programs in Student Life.

Q: In 12 words or less, what role(s) do you play on campus? 

A: A graduate student, a friend, an event planner, and an alumni.

Q: What aspect of your UMBC role(s) do you enjoy most?

A: I love that everyone is so friendly at UMBC. You can just be walking to class and start up a conversation with anyone.

Q: What is the most important or memorable thing you learned in college/have learned at UMBC?

A: There is something for everyone. Everyone has somewhere they can fit in and you are most likely to find your niche on this campus.

Q: What is one way you have worked with others to make a positive difference at UMBC or in another community?


A: Joining Greek life has really helped be understand the meaning of giving back to the community. To understand all the wonderful opportunities I have been given and to help out the community. Being able to see the difference you make in a groups or individuals life is very touching.

Q: Complete this sentence: "I am a big fan of __________"

A: Dancing.

Q: Do you have any UMBC stories, little-known facts about UMBC, favorite spots on campus, or anything else you’d like to share?

A: My favorite spot on campus is the Physics Building. They have all sorts of cool things. If you sit on the 2nd floor of the building, you can look out and see most of campus. Also,the Physics Building has a telescope which is open for public viewing on the first Thursday of every month and it's something everyone should try at least once.
