UMBC's Katie Cano Appointed MHEC Student Commissioner

UMBC junior Katie Cano has been appointed to serve as the sole student member of the Maryland Higher Education Commission for 2014-2015. Katie will represent hundreds of thousands of Maryland college students on the Commission, which establishes policies and makes decisions aboutbudgets and construction priorities, financial aid, the creation of new academic programs, the establishment of new colleges and universities, and other matters relating to higher education in this state.
