Real People Profiles: Dina Trembisky

We're asking some of the people you might encounter on the UMBC campus, including students, faculty, staff and alumni, to answer a few questions about themselves and their experiences. These are their responses.

Name: Dina Trembisky

Hometown:
Potomac, MD

Major:
Media and Communication Studies

Q: How long have you been at UMBC?

A: This is my fourth semester at UMBC

Q: What is your current title (job or student organization position)?

A: Social Media Intern at Student Life, Committee member for the Student Events Board, New Member of my sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha

Q: In 12 words or less, what role(s) do you play on campus?

A: Trying to get people as excited for UMBC events as I am.

Q: What aspect of your UMBC role(s) do you enjoy most?

A: I love working at Student Life. It's so incredible to be around people that are constantly looking for ways to enrich the lives of UMBC students, and the fact that I get to be a part of it all is amazing. A huge part of what I do is promoting and documenting various events on campus, which gives me a chance to attend events that I might not have gone to on my own, and a great opportunity to meet people I otherwise might not have ever had the chance to meet!

Along with promoting events, SEB is what makes many amazing events come to life on campus. From planning an event from scratch to actually helping run it, being involved in the process is extremely rewarding.

Mostly recently, when I joined Alpha Sigma Alpha, I became part of the amazing Greek community on campus. It's such an exciting and supportive community, definitely one of the best decisions I have made in my college career so far!

Q: What is the most important or memorable thing you learned in college/have learned at UMBC?

A: College is all about trying new things and leaving your comfort zone. Getting involved in various student organizations, clubs, and really anything on campus is so important. There are so many opportunities for students to *actually* make a difference and meet incredible people at UMBC, and there is a place for everyone here, you just have to leave your dorm room and find it!

Q: Complete this sentence: "I am a big fan of __________"

A: Pizza, camels, summer camp, and meeting new people.

Q: Do you have any UMBC stories, little-known facts about UMBC, favorite spots on campus, or anything else you’d like to share?

A: You will get more free shirts than you can handle while you are here.
