Real People Profiles: Shanae Cole

We're asking some of the people you might encounter on the UMBC campus, including students, faculty, staff and alumni, to answer a few questions about themselves and their experiences. These are their responses.


Name: Shanae Cole

Hometown: Lancaster Pennslyvania

Major: Media and Communication Studies, with a Dance minor.

Q: How long have you been at UMBC?

A: I am currently in my senior year...Yay!  

Q: What is your current title (job or student organization position)?

A: I am a Promotions Intern for FOX45 and CW Baltimore. I am also a Student Assistant in the Undergraduate Admissions Office and I work as a Theater Host at the National Aquarium on the weekends. 🙂

Q: In 12 words or less, what role(s) do you play on campus? 

A: I love helping others-and making someones day! 

Q: What aspect of your UMBC role(s) do you enjoy most?

A: I enjoy talking to prospective students because I want them to get excited about college and know that they are in good hands when they come to UMBC! 

Q: What is the most important or memorable thing you learned in college/have learned at UMBC?

A: The most memorable thing I learned in college was that anything is possible if you work hard and have faith and Dr. Freeman Hrabowski is living proof!

A: Superheroes

Q: Do you have any UMBC stories, little-known facts about UMBC, favorite spots on campus, or anything else you’d like to share?

A: I love to dance and my favorite spot on campus is Chick Fil A.
