Department of Modern Languages, Linguistics, and Intercultural Communication presents the Latinx Film Festival

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Department of Modern Languages, Linguistics, and Intercultural Communication presents their Latinx Film Festival.

  • October 7 - Los Lobos (2019) - Two children emigrate to the US with their mother. Their days pass in a tiny flat waiting for her to come back as they hold on to the hope of visiting Disneyworld.

    Dr Meloddye Carpio-Rios will introduce the film and guide a short discussion after.

  • October 15 - Real Women Have Curves (2002) - In East Los Angeles, an 18-year-old struggles between her ambitions of going to college and the desires of her domineering mother for her to get married, have children, and oversee the small, rundown family-owned textile factory.

    Dr. Thania Muñoz-Davaslioglu will introduce the film and guide a short discussion after.
