Congratulations and introduction to your GSA leadership for 2025-26!

We are thrilled to announce the newly elected and appointed leadership of the Graduate Student Association for the next academic year! Their term will start 1 July 2025.

Executive Council:

  • President: Aminah Amjad

  • Chief of Staff: Saad Khan

  • Vice President: Ahmet Kaan Aydin

  • Treasurer: Pranit Pramod Patil

  • Secretary: Linda Appeynarh

  • Speaker of the Senate: Javed Tamboli

  • Grants Review Panel Chair: Hima Mansi Nagabhirava

  • Graduate Assistants Advisory Committee (GAAC) Chair: Milind Rampure

  • Graduate Experience, Achievement, and Research Success Committee (GEARS) Chair: Arya Honraopatil

  • Equity of Funds Committee Chair: Xixellonje Nebihu


Senate:

  • Student Affairs Senators (who represent the entire graduate student population): Kaushik Chinthala and Javed Tamboli from COEIT, Kennedy Davis from CNMS, and Taylor West from CAHSS

  • COEIT Senators: Reena Kale, Sri Kavya Narravula, Sri Lakshmi Bhavya Sowjanya, and Divya Sri Sreeram

  • CAHSS Senators: Yannick Bopda, Nia Hampton, Diane Placide, and Ridwan Islam Sifat

  • CNMS Senators: None yet! There was not enough student support to elect any Senators from CNMS besides Kennedy yet. There will be another opportunity to run for the 4 positions for Senators representing CNMS at the beginning of the fall semester!

Also, congratulations to Harshal Chauhan, UMBC PhD student, the new Vice President for Graduate Affairs for the University System of Maryland Student Council for 2025-26!
