quick Student Legal Services survey
If you could consult with a free attorney, when would you?
UMBC is exploring adding a Student Legal Service that would provide our students with information about a selection of legal matters to enable them to address their own personal concerns. Typically, when universities offer these resources, they are funded out of student fees; accordingly, your Graduate Student Association, as fee holder for the graduate student fee, has been participating in discussions this year about potentially creating such an office at UMBC.
See, for instance, the website for the new Student Legal Aid office that UMD, College Park, has recently added for its students:
If the GSA Senate decides to help fund such an office this spring, it might be able to start operation this fall.
As part of the preliminary research and planning process, we'd like to know what day(s) and time(s) would work for the most students for services to be available--that way we can ensure that any attorneys or agencies we work with could accommodate those times.
