Protothon 2024 Competition Rules and Incentives

Team Composition:

Each team should consist of 2 to 5 members, including at least one current UMBC student. Participants are welcome from all academic levels—undergraduate, master’s, or PhD programs. Students from any university are eligible to join, and full-time professionals are encouraged to participate as mentors within the teams as long as there is one current UMBC student in the team.

Submission Requirements:

Submissions must be in PowerPoint presentation format by November 18th (10PM EST). Email submissions only to product@umbc.edu or dwali1@umbc.edu and reach out to same emails for any queries.

Deadline: November 18, 2024, by 10 PM EST.

Final Competition Day: November 21, 2024 (4 pm EST - 7 pm EST)

Presentation Content:

Include design models, sensor choices, and a predictive model for cloudbursts using open-source datasets.

Evaluation:

Judging will be based on the solution’s practicality, innovation, and reliability.
