CFP: Voice and Speech Review

Various deadlines

The Voice and Speech Review (VSR) is the official publication of the Voice And Speech Trainers Association (VASTA) and is published by Routledge (Taylor & FrancisGroup). The VSR publishes three issues per year, two of which are general issues and one of which is a themed issue. The VSR welcomes peer reviewed articles from a broad array of voice-oriented subjects. We also welcome  scholarly essays and interviews based on personal experience that are often practical notes from the field, as well as book and other resource reviews.

The VSR’s Scope:

Voice and speech training overlaps many other disciplines and practices, so the VSR encourages submissions that examine voice through other means. Such topics may include:

We solicit articles and essays that focus on voice and speech topics and training, particularly for the performing arts.

•Linguistics, phonetics
•Performing arts pedagogy
•Voice science, speech and voice therapy
•Acting, performance
•Singing
•Public speaking, corporate training
•Language acquisition, development
•Stage movement
•Heightened language, Shakespeare
•Theatre history and literature

July 2018 Themed Issue:

The themed issue (July 2018) focuses on the History of Voice Pedagogy. Articles, essays, and interviews may focus on any aspect of voice pedagogy history. The editors are especially interested in historical figures, movements, and trends across various fields in voice and educational environments.
