UMBC Community Read event on November 2nd
The UMBC Community Read for fall 2021 and spring 2022 is We Speak For
Ourselves by D. Watkins, a Baltimore-based author, teacher, and speaker.
All UMBC and surrounding Baltimore area community
members are invited to participate. In collaboration with the Center for Democracy and Civic Life; Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation; and Montgomery College, the initial event is a combined workshop and panel discussion on the
theme of telling our stories, youth literacy, and social and racial
justice.
The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd, 4:30-6:30 via
WebEx.
