Description

To the LGBTQ+ Muslim community: we see you, we believe you, you matter.

Our campus community has been made aware of invalidating and harmful language shared over social media that has negatively impacted members of our community, especially members of our LGBTQ+ and Muslim communities. For all those impacted, we are here and able to provide community for processing and exchanging supportive resources.

On Wednesday, Dec. 16th from 12:00pm-1:00pm we are holding a healing space for LGBTQ+ Muslim community members and their allies. All are welcome and encouraged to join in whatever mode they feel most comfortable with (i.e. video on or off, muted/unmuted, chat only, etc.).

A link for this meeting will be made available by Wednesday at 10am if not sooner; please check the myUMBC event later.

PLEASE NOTE: This safe space is not intended for debate. Rather, this event is meant to provide intentional healing and supportive space for UMBC community members to process and share their thoughts, emotions, and reactions.

For more information, please email us at womenscenter@umbc.edu.

This healing space is also supported by I3B.
