What's The (T)ea?: Policies Beyond Marriage Equality

A discussion on policies affect LGBTQ+ community members

Location

Description

This series is geared to explore social justice needs for various marginalized populations. We all talk about how diverse UMBC is. But, what does that mean in reality? How does it show up in how we communicate and interact with each other? When does celebrating diversity shift into inclusivity that creates positive social change in and outside our campus community? This series hopes to help us grapple with these questions. Join us for a facilitated discussion of these topics, voice your opinions, and hear those of your fellow community members.

There’s no denying that the 2015 Supreme Court case legalizing marriage equality nationwide was a landmark decision for LGBTQ+ rights, but what other policies affect this community?
Join Campus Life's Mosaic for a discussion of issues sometimes overlooked, such as adoption, gender marker and name changes, conversion therapy, and more!

All undergrads, grads, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend! For any questions, please email Erin Waddles Coordinator for Student Diversity and Inclusion at waddles@umbc.edu or Campus Life’s Mosaic at mosaic@umbc.edu.
