Location

Date & Time

October 3, 2018, 10:00 am4:00 pm

Description

Students, faculty, and staff have made t-shirts describing their experience with relationship violence and sexual assault. In recognition of UMBC's Relationship Violence Awareness Month, on Wednesday, October 3rd these t-shirts will be hung shoulder-to-shoulder on a clothesline for public viewing, as if the survivors are there themselves, telling us their stories.

The Clothesline Project gives voice to the experiences of survivors, victims, family, and friends who have been affected by violence. All are encouraged to attend and participate.

UMBC community members impacted by interpersonal violence are encouraged to make a t-shirt for the display prior to Oct 3rd so it can be included in the October display. Supplies will be available throughout all of October in the Women's Center and shirts made on or after October 3rd will be included in future displays to include Take Back the Night 2019.

UMBC community members interested in volunteering for this event are encouraged to email the Women's Center at womenscenter@umbc.edu. Setting up the project takes lots of hands so volunteers are greatly appreciated!
