Invitation to “Navigating Departmental Politics,” an Interactive Theatre Performance by the University of Michigan’s CRLT Players
We are delighted to invite you to “Navigating Departmental Politics,” an interactive theatre performance, to be held on Thursday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.and again from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Both performances will be held in the University Center Ballroom.
“Navigating Departmental Politics” is performed by the University of Michigan’s Center for Research, Learning and Teaching (CRLT) Players, which was developed as part of Michigan’s ADVANCE program. The highly-acclaimed Players use interactive theatre to address a range of issues common in academic life with the goal of sparking dialogue among faculty, graduate students, and academic administrators. In “Navigating Departmental Politics,” the Players focus specifically on faculty hiring and departmental climate, and the performances promise to inspire insightful conversations about the practices and interactions that impact the recruitment, hiring, and retention of diverse and excellent faculty.
This event is just one of our spring 2016 events focused on diversity and is part of the larger faculty diversity initiatives that we shared with you in November 2015. We look forward to your joining us at one of the performances.
