Description

*This workshop was rescheduled to 5/4/15 in order to accommodate the Baltimore Safe Space discussion*

Over the past two years, a number of campuses have been under pressure to improve their campus sexual assault response and judicial processes. Student activists were key in creating the significant momentum around this issue by engaging social media to raise awareness about the ways they were treated when reporting sexual assault to campus officials. In this interactive presentation, participants will be presented with the results from a study exploring recent student activists’ journeys, how they gained momentum, and the role social media played in their activism. Additionally, participants will engage in a discussion about effective strategies and tools they can use in developing their own identity and voice as student activist.

Workshop Presented by Jess Myers, Women's Center Director
