Returning Women Students Forum: Naming Our Priorities

A "Time Management" Discussion That Goes Beyond Your Planner

Location

On Campus : Women's Center, Commons 004

Date & Time

September 16, 2014, 11:30 am12:30 pm

Description

This will be an open discussion for returning women students to discuss the struggles and guilt related to time management. Do I go to my child's soccer game or read that 50-page article for class tomorrow? How do I convey to my family and friends that I need to be away from them so I can study? How do I communicate to my professor that my family's needs may take priority over a class assignment on occasion? Join other returning women students to discuss your struggles and successes in navigating the nuances of time management that extend beyond simply putting everything you need to do in your day planner.

We have created a Google Hangout on Air link for this discussion!
For those of you who want to join but can't join us in person, click on this link (you must be logged into your UMBC account) to join us live on the 16th! You'll be able to listen to the conversation and hopefully get some insights. If you have questions or want to add to the conversation, tweet in with your questions using the Women's Center handle @womencenterumbc.

*Please note... this will be our first time attempting this hangout on air so please be patient with us... and be sure to share your feedback on how it worked for you!*

What is the Returning Women Students Forum?

This program is designed to support undergraduate women over the age of 25 returning to college later in life. The meeting is an informal time for returning women to gather and share their stories, struggles, and successes. Campus resources will also be made available in order to help returning women reach their goals. Please check the Women's Center myUMBC group calendar for up-to-date meeting times. You can also request an invite to join the Returning Women Students Forum on Facebook for news, resources, and community building.
