Donations for this event are accepted beginning February 29th until the day of, in the Women's Center. Please wash clothing before donating, and only bring clothes in good condition. The Women's Center is open Monday through Thursday, from 9:30am to 5pm. Donations are encouraged, but not required.

What's happening:

10am-4pm - clothing swap, with snacks and music. We have two private spaces where you can try on clothing.

4pm-5pm - the Spectrum discussion group will meet to discuss gender expression and its connection to identity formation.

Spectrum is an open community discussion group, and there is no registration or sign up to participate in the clothing swap or discussion group. If you are interested in staying up to date with Spectrum, please email womenscenter@umbc.edu to be added to our mailing list.

The Spectrum Discussion Group makes space for UMBC community members who identify as trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, outside of the gender binary, and/or those who are questioning their gender identity and those who are allies, regardless of their sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. This discussion-based program follows the Women’s Center Brave Space model to provide a welcoming environment and thoughtful community to engage in conversations focused on the experiences of the transgender community.

Spring 2024: We meet every other week on Wednesdays at 4pm in the Women's Center Lounge!

If you have any questions, concerns, or want to know more about the group, email us at womenscenter@umbc.edu.

This group centers trans, non-binary, and gender-questioning experiences; we request that students do not use this space for class research or interviews.

Please note: UMBC is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all students, staff, faculty, and visitors. If you have difficulties accessing any of the materials on our site or any of our events or discussions, please contact us so that we can provide an alternative format and/or remedy any accessibility challenges.
