Description

It's back! After a long hiatus due to our transition back to campus, the SafeZone LGBTQIA2+ Allyship Development Workshop will be making a return just in time for Pride Month!

This workshop is designed to help students, staff, faculty, alumnx, and campus affiliates to create a more welcoming, affirmative atmosphere for LGBTQIA2+ members of the UMBC community. The program includes a variety of activities for community members at all levels of knowledge and comfort with LGBTQIA2+ culture and concerns, from basic terminology, core concepts, LGBTQIA2+ intersections, to skills-based sessions on pronoun usage, allyship development, as well as the nuances between sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation and romantic orientation. Once completed, participants have the opportunity to join i3b’s formal network of SafeZone Ally List.

To register fill out our RSVP Form (Registration Deadline: 06/02/2023 at noon). You must use the form to register to account for any dietary and accessibility restrictions. An RSVP is required for participation. Please note that there will be multiple opportunities throughout June, so please select the date that works best for you! Please contact us if you are no longer available or need to change your preferred training date a week in advance to allow our team to adjust our catering and material orders.

Our i3b staff strives to create the most inclusive environment possible. All undergrads, grads, staff, faculty, alumnx, and campus affiliates are encouraged to attend!
