Description

On behalf of the Modern Languages and Linquistics Department and in celebration of HIspanic Heritage Month, we are excited to announce a performative lecture by Chicano performance artist, writer, activist, and educator Guillermo Gómez Peña.  This is one of many exciting speakers who are a part of the Fall 2016 Humanities Forum.

Through spoken word poetry, radical storytelling and language experimentation, Gómez Peña offers critical and humorous commentary about cross-cultural issues and North/South relations, challenging conventions of race, gender, culture and class.  Gómez Peña has presented his work internationally and has published books in English, Spanish and Spanglish. He is a MacArthur Fellow and winner of the American Book Award.
