Dr. Kevin Omland (UMBC Professor of Biology), presents two seminar for graduate students, postdocs, and faculty on July 6, 2016 - July 7 , 2016 at UMBC, Commons, Room 331

Sometimes, trying to be perfect means that you never get those drafts off of your desk or off of your computer screen. What about submitting them for publication? Did you know that journal articles are ranked? Find out about the rankings and ratings of various journals.

Professor Kevin Omland has more than 50 publications, that have been cited more than 3000 times. Dr. Omland provides his lectures for our academic community. Faculty, Postdocs, and graduate students are welcome to attend. These seminars were initially sponsored by a grant from Universidad Metropolitana, in Puerto Rico as part of their faculty development initiative that utilized best practices from PROMISE: Maryland’s AGEP and the ADVANCE Hispanic Women in STEM Project. Dr. Omland conducted the initial seminars in San Juan, Puerto Rico in May 2013.
