Description
A workshop for undergraduate and graduate students presented by Spring Up co-founders, Stas Schmiedt and A. Lea Roth.
This 90-minute workshop will center trans and nonbinary students although it will also be open to allies. Together we will discuss radical care work at the intersections of self and community care. This will explore a variety of strategies and skills to build power and sustainably center care including how to map and assert boundaries, identifying signs of burnout and dissociation, mapping our support systems, and storytelling for healing and social change.

About Spring Up:
Spring Up is a small, powerful Denver-based social justice enterprise organization building an alternative vision of our world rooted in consent, collective liberation, community accountability, and care. Through training and consultation, we nurture and support mission-driven organizations and educational institutions seeking to transform internal cultural dynamics to respond to, reduce, and transform harm, as well as increase equity, diversity, and inclusion. We also engage community based organizing to build local resilience and capacity to transform harm and facilitate healing, for example our Consent Fellowship program which develops young people’s leadership to prevent and respond to gender based violence in South Florida. We have
been working to develop inclusive, transformative approaches to campus violence since 2013.
