Description

Our Inspirational Talks series that invites speakers each semester from all over the country to discuss personal experiences relating to their identity, research and/or global issues that impact diversity and inclusion. PAWTalks is an interactive, cultural sharing experience by highlighting the richness of the various cultures through speakers from around the country representing diverse backgrounds.

This talk features QueenEarth a.k.a. Missy Smith and her QueerCore performance. QueerCore gives life to the stories behind “coming out” songs and seeks to inspire others through shared experiences. As a musical genre, QueerCore is distinguished by lyrics exploring themes related to sexuality, gender identity and expression. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served! All undergrads, grads, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend! For any questions, please email Carlos Turcios, Coordinator for Student Diversity and Inclusion at carlos6@umbc.edu or Campus Life’s Mosaic at mosaic@umbc.edu.
