Of Note: Kevin Wisniewski

Mini-Lecture Flag Day

At the end of the Spring semester, Language, Literacy & Culture doctoral candidate Kevin Wisniewski, Cohort 15, began a min-lecture tour on early American printing, publishing, music, and design.  Along the way, he stopped in Boston to deliver a paper on fake news, disinformation, and propaganda during the American Revolution at the Annual Meeting of the American Literature Association.

His series concluded on June 14, Flag Day, in Baltimore.  Kevin's lecture on the origins of the American flag was part of the program celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House.  Other features of the day's events included a flag talk and unveiling of a replica of Mary Pickersgill's 1814 flag and the Fort McHenry Fife and Drum Corps.

Congratulations and welcome home, Kevin!
