Description

The Department of Gender & Women’s Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses pending openings. These include courses on topics such as: Women in American Cultures, Alternate Sexualities in a Transnational World, Gender and Pop Culture, Global Issues for Women, Sexualities, Gender in American Cultures: "She is not American...or is she?” Gender, Race and Sexuality in American Immigrant Cultures.

The pool will remain in place for two calendar years. Positions may range from 16% to 100% time (one to six courses), with salary dependent on qualifications. The minimum qualification required to be considered an applicant for the position is the completion of all degree requirements except the dissertation at the time of application. A PhD or equivalent degree must be received by the start date.

Duties include lecturing and any other duties customarily related to teaching (i.e., holding regular office hours, attending appropriate meetings/orientations, calculating grades, etc.).

Screening of applicants begins immediately and will continue as needed. Applicants will be selected from this pool for two calendar years. We typically review applications for fall course needs in April and May, and in October and November for spring course needs.
