Description and Qualifications
The Department of Communication, Culture and Media Studies seeks a qualified person to fill a one-year (temporary) position at the Assistant Professor level.  Applicants should possess an earned doctorate and be able to teach doctoral-level courses in at least two of the following:  media industries, media effects, political economy of communication, popular culture, and African American communication issues.  Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to multicultural issues and pedagogy.  Responsibilities include teaching 4-6 courses per year and participating in the life of the department.  The appointment begins August 15, 2015.

The Department, School and University
The Department of Communication, Culture and Media Studies (CCMS) offers doctoral-level studies leading to the Ph.D.  The department has a diverse community of approximately 40 doctoral students from the United States and other nations. The School of Communications is an interdisciplinary unit composed of two undergraduate departments (Strategic, Legal and Management Communications; and Media, Journalism and Film) and two graduate departments (Communication, Culture and Media Studies; and Communication Sciences and Disorders).
