UMBC's Residential Life


Residential Life is opening a search for a Graduate Assistant Coordinator for Facilities, and a Graduate Conferences Coordinator. Both postings are 20 hours a week, 12-month positions that include tuition remission, on-campus housing, 10 meals a week while the university is in session, and a financial stipend as compensation. Graduate Assistant Coordinator, Residential Facilities

  • Assist with the supervision of Maintenance Assistants (12), summer Project Assistants (25) and an Office Assistant (1).
  • Assist with development, coordination and implementation of Safety and Security program planning.
  • Assist with publications and educational components for Residential Facilities (fliers, workshops).
  • Serve as a liaison with Physical Plant Project Managers on designated projects or tasks.
  • Provide feedback to the Assistant Director about facilities issues and performance of paraprofessional staff and resident student concerns.

Graduate Conferences Coordinator

  • Attend regular UMBC Events meetings, and weekly during peak summer season
  • Recruitment and selection of summer staff members
  • Aid in facilitation of summer staff meetings
  • Serve on the summer conference on-call duty rotation, as well as the facilities grad on-call rotation
  • Collaborate with campus partners (Dining, Campus Card, Commons, etc.)
  • Support departmental initiatives
