Description

This spring the Women's Center roundtable series is focusing on the underrepresentation of women in various fields.

In recognition of Women’s History Month and the critical efforts of women faculty and staff at UMBC, the Women’s Center is hosting a special roundtable on the experiences of women in higher education followed by a meet & greet dessert reception.

All UMBC women faculty and staff are invited to join the Women's Center and our panelists Dr. Lindsay Dicuirci (English), Dr. Maria Sanchez (Mechanical Engineering), and Ms. Danielle Pettigrew (Student Judicial Programs) as we explore topics related to women in higher education such as (but not limited to) imposter syndrome and perfectionism, the motherhood track vs the tenure track clock, and the experience of sexism and other “isms” in the workplace and classroom.

This event is intended to facilitate dialogue and community building among UMBC women staff and faculty, so we encourage you to share your own thoughts and questions about your experience as a woman in higher education.

For questions contact the Women's Center at womens.center@umbc.edu or call 410-455-2714.

If you plan on attending, please RSVP below so we can ensure we have the right amount of desserts for everyone attending.

This event is co-sponsored by the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Women’s Faculty Network
